Viva Capital

Impulse Grant

Amor por Juárez, in partnership with Viva Capital, has launched the Viva Capital Artist Grant Program. This initiative seeks to advance cultural production in the El Paso–Juárez region by supporting the creation of new work that engages with themes of history, identity, and belonging.

By positioning art as a platform for inquiry and reflection, the program underscores the role of artists as key voices in interpreting the social and cultural complexity of the borderlands.

The program also aims to strengthen the visibility of regional artistic practices within a broader cultural context. Through financial support, curatorial guidance, and opportunities for public presentation, the Viva Capital Artist Grant encourages artists to experiment, innovate, and contribute to ongoing conversations about memory, community, and the shaping of cultural identity in the border region.

Eligible Disciplines

Photography

Open to different approaches, including documentary, fine art, and experimental photography. The selected project must result in a large-format fine art print produced to professional standards. Part of the grant budget will be allocated to cover production costs of the print (approx. $500) to ensure high-quality materials and printing.

Painting

Proposals may include the creation of a new painting that addresses the themes of identity, memory, and history in the border region. Works must be produced with durable, high-quality materials so they may be considered collectible pieces. A portion of the grant ($500) will be specifically allocated to cover material costs, ensuring professional standards in production.
