Biography

Ochoa’s works include photography, painting, mixed media, and printmaking. By using abstraction, she creates intense personal momentsby luring the viewer with images that convey themes of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal. The results are deconstructed to the extent that meaning is shifted and interpretation becomes multifaceted. Her work demonstrates how life extends beyond its own subjective limits and often tells a story about the effects of cultural interaction. It challenges the binaries we continually reconstruct between self and the other. Briseida is pursuing a double major in Printmaking and Painting at UTEP. She currently lives and works in El Paso.
