Biography

Her work is an extension of herself, so she strives to give the viewer and sincere emotional experience. She has been drawing on any surface she could find since the third grade – showing how long art has influenced her life. Her art is influenced by the Italian Baroque period emulating how Baroque art creates drama through lighting, color, and composition.
Currently, painting is an outlet for emotions surrounding her sister’s suicide. In this series she is trying to capture the struggle her sister lived throughout her short life. She was plagued with a constant discomfort stemming from her view of her body. These women are suspended in space forever in these uncomfortable positions. Using the dramatic style Baroque art conveys the discomfort she felt every day.
