Inside Out

The project Inside Out is a creation of the urban artist JR, who was awarded the TED Prize in 2011. Amor por Juarez collaborated with Monica Lozano to form the Inside Out project in Juarez and El Paso. With the collaboration of 14 local photographers, 1000 images of Juarez and El Paso were collected. Posters (90 X 135cm) were placed on the Rio Grande, which divides the United States and Mexico, on October 29, 2011. The portraits of both nationalities were mixed and placed facing each other, emphasizing that there is no division between the communities of our two cities. The main objective of this project was to use the images to capture the beauty of the spirit of the people of this border and their love for the community.
